Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kelly O’Dowd. Kelly was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Sarah Malone.
Hi Kelly , we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am a mother, working full time for an industrial company, and a patient of Crohn’s Disease. As I found myself becoming lost in the chaos of daily life, I searched for more purpose, and a deeper connection with others. Through these things (that I thought were holding me back), I found that God was leading me into MY path. A spiritual path, led with the gifts of photography, leadership, compassion, and empathy. My schedule is always full, but currently it’s much more FULFILLING. 🙂
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I keep it real, always! Full time I’m working for an industrial supply company, this is to keep the household moving. I have a personal business where I use photography as my outlet. I stepped behind my camera again, working with Sarah Malone on the Reignite in the Red Rocks: Women’s Retreat near Sedona, AZ. I work with Sarah on a spiritual level, and that connection is what kept us in alignment for experiences of shooting, including photos of program work, portraits, hiking, and everything in between. I also work with small businesses and mainly focus on portraits (graduation, engagement). I advocate for IBD (irritable bowel disease), as a Crohn’s patient myself, I am always learning and helping others see this invisible illness.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Sarah Malone and Spark: The Secret Place and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Spark: The Secret Place.
Sarah and I reconnected at just the right moment. God knew we were meant to join paths! I found healing through Sarah’s sound bowl events, and then began seeing her for Reiki. What she does in our sessions is so much more than traditional Reiki – I have physically felt release through the vibrations and energy transfers she creates! I was an attendee in the first Reignite in the Red Rocks Retreat, and jumped on board to learn from Sarah, through her Reignition Program. I was ready to become more in tune with my natural energy sources. The healing I experienced, and the sisterhood I left with was something better than I imagined. We connect monthly as a group (in person AND on zoom) and it’s helped me stay in touch with the community we’ve fostered, as well as checking in with myself. Thanks to this recognition of self, I reached out to Sarah for Hypnotherapy, and felt an even deeper sense of understanding. Sarah truly has a spiritual magic in her! I’ve found power to open up my chakras, release pain I’ve held onto (physically and emotionally), and even took a night time class thanks to Sarah helping me see what I am capable of through MY healing process. Sarah helped me rediscover that inner child who is confident and compassionate.
