Hi Kelly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My story began during the challenging times of the pandemic.

Like many others, I found myself facing unexpected changes when I lost my job. However, instead of letting this setback define me, I decided to turn it into an opportunity. In 2020, I embarked on a new path and trained to become a Paramedical Permanent Makeup (PMU) artist. This decision sparked a passion within me that has grown and evolved ever since.

Fast forward to today, and I am proud to say that I have specialized in paramedical permanent makeup. This includes scar camouflage, corrective procedures, lip blushing, and permanent eyeliner. My work allows me to help people feel more confident and beautiful, which is incredibly fulfilling. One of the highlights of my career has been being awarded the Best in Phoenix for Saline Tattoo Removal. This recognition means a lot to me and motivates me to continue striving for excellence in everything I do.

In addition to my work as a PMU artist, I am the proud host of the Scottsdale Permanent Makeup & Aesthetic Conference. This event brings together professionals from all over to share knowledge, techniques, and the latest trends in the industry. It’s a wonderful platform for learning and networking, and I am thrilled to be the host.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a business owner, I have faced numerous challenges that have shaped my journey and growth.

Running a small business has required me to become proficient in new skills. I’ve had to dive into SEO, social media marketing, bookkeeping, graphic design, Canva, video editing, and much more. Each skill has been essential in building and maintaining a successful business, and while the learning curve has been steep at times, it has also been incredibly rewarding.

One of the most significant lessons I’ve learned is understanding that not every client is the right fit for my services, and it’s perfectly okay to turn away those who may not align with my expertise or business values. This realization has allowed me to focus on clients who truly benefit from my skills and passion.
