Meet Kelli Culbertson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelli Culbertson.

Kelli, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was little, I always loved to perform. I took all types of dance classes and performed in the school plays. I also would do commercials and print modeling when I lived in Yuma for local businesses. When I moved to Ahwatukee in middle school, I became shy moving to a new school/city.

I was considered gifted in vocal performance and focused on singing. When my father got a job transfer to rural Ohio I got into the school choir and local theatre. It wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I was part of a show choir that competed on a national level. It made me fall in love with performing all over again. I ended up going to college at Kent State University for Theatre. I performed in many plays. It’s when I took an acting for film is when I knew I wanted to be in film. I have been in multiple commercials, films, and television shows. I have multiple projects in the works right now.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As an actor, it is never a smooth road. Trying to work flexible jobs so you are able to audition at your agent’s office. Also, if you get the job how to actually get someone to cover your shift or call off work without your boss finding out why. It’s never an easy road when you are trying to follow and achieve your dreams.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Currently, I have been trying to perfect my craft through multiple acting classes. I also have been getting into voiceover acting. It has always been a dream of mine to be in a Disney Animated Feature!!

Do you feel like there are certain traits that increase the likelihood of success?
As long as you are passionate, true to your character, and believe in yourself. I think all those qualities will make you be the best actor you could be. It also helps to be punctual and organized.
