Today we’d like to introduce you to Keize Montoya.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m originally from Clovis, NM and I’ve lived in Phoenix, AZ since 2009. I’ve been drawn to music and artwork since I was a child. I enjoy wearing all the hats in the creative process. I own my own business — Ethereal Entertainment ® — Where I focus most on music and graphic design but I also edit my own music videos.
As a recording artist, my music has been featured in Footlocker and AT&T Stadium. My music has gained a few million views and streams. I’ve also opened for several notable artists in concert. (i.e. 2 Chainz, T-Pain, Rae Sremmurd)
As a graphic designer, I’ve won “Best Graphic Design” in the valley. I’ve designed for premier venues such as W Hotel, Maya Day + Nightclub, Christie’s Cabaret. I’ve also designed for notable entertainers such as DC Young Fly & Luis Coronel.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve definitely had to learn humility, how to deal with rejection and how subjective opinions can be. Juggling my various tasks and ambitions has been the most challenging. I have to be mindful not to ‘spread myself too thin’.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am most known for my music and graphic design work. I specialize in both.
I set myself apart from other independent artists is the ability to seamlessly fill nearly every role in the creative process. Whether it’s writing, producing, mixing or graphic design.
Musically, I’m most known for my viral song and music video “Feed Me”, which gained over 9 million views online and plays regularly at AT&T Stadium.
I’m very proud of the brand recognition that I’ve attained up to this point. Both as an artist (Keize Montoya) and as a business (Ethereal Entertainment).
We always love to ask about the support network – have there been people, perhaps mentors or advisors, who have played a big role in your success?
Music has been in my family for generations so I credit the Montoya family for the original inspiration. As far as the work I’ve put in, I’ve done nearly everything — as far as creating/marketing goes — by myself. I truly am a “one-man band”. I’d like to eventually expand my company because everyone needs a team at some point.
