Meet Keagan Stromberg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keagan Stromberg.

Keagan Stromberg

Hi Keagan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I got my start in music from as early as I can remember. I grew up in Kentucky and was always surrounded by music and I remember singing at my church’s Apollo show. I sang the song “Ben” by Michael Jackson. From there, I was enrolled in piano lessons and in the middle school band until basketball had its way, and I quit being musically involved altogether.

Then, one day, I started recording raps to beats from YouTube to Audacity on this old IBM laptop. Then my mom brought home FL Studio, which is a producing software or DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), and I started making my own beats.

Eventually, the time came for me to start recording my own music and in 2016 my junior year of high school I put out my first single on SoundCloud. From there, I continued to produce and make music throughout high school and college. I’m now in Phoenix, AZ, signed to Fervor Records, about to release my 3rd single under the label title “I Wish That”.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I’d say the biggest struggle was having to sacrifice a year from making music so that I could work a job that I absolutely hated but would give me the finances necessary to live and not be under so much financial pressure.

At the beginning of 2022, I got into a car accident that completely derailed where I thought I was headed at the time: trying to be a full-time artist. But the Lord was faithful during that, and I learned a lot about my resiliency and perseverance. It was a character-building moment and while I was in that job, I signed my first label deal and had a bit of a diamond in the rough experience. God really came through because Lord knows I needed it!

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer-songwriter, producer, composer, and all-around creative. I also love fashion and creative direction. My main thing is being a music artist, but I don’t like to limit myself because I know I can do it all. Maybe not all at once, but I have big dreams.

I’m known for being Keagan. I don’t say that in a braggadocios way, but I know the Lord has created me to be who He has called, and that is special to each individual person. There will never be another you or me, and that’s also what I think separates me in the creative endeavors I choose to pursue. The lens that I look at the world is a gift and specific to only me. So even if I’m writing about a topic that has been written about a billion times, the billion and 1st time will be different.

I’m proud of never giving up. I’m proud of what the Lord has blessed me to be able to create and who I’ve become. Especially on the next project, my goal is to create out of what is authentically Keagan.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is all of the family gatherings that we had at my aunt’s house growing up. I wish I could relive one.
