Meet Kayleigh Darezzo of Styled By Kayleigh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayleigh Darezzo.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had a big love for anything beauty or style — hair, makeup, clothes, pretty much anything in the category of those things. When I was 12, I ended up getting a rare disease called aplastic anemia. It’s a disease where your body stops making blood for no reason, and you’ll eventually die without treatment. One of those treatments is chemo.

I ended up doing a one really hard round of chemo before my bone marrow transplant and lost all my hair. After I was much better, my hair became a huge weird obsession. I got really into hair extensions and would always be figuring out how to make them work in my new short, still growing hair.

I got really good at the placement of the hair and making it all blend well that I decided to take a class to get certified in micro beaded weft extensions. I’ve now created a website/blog with all my passions wrapped into one!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Getting your name out there has definitely been a struggle and keeping motivated to push through that has been rough. Sometimes you just wish it would happen overnight so not getting discouraged when it doesn’t is always not super fun!

Please tell us about Styled By Kayleigh.
I feel like what makes me different from most people who do extensions is I have a huge heart and know what it’s like not to feel pretty about not having long thick hair. Your hair really is such a confidence booster, and I completely can get that.

I’m really really proud of my website which is styledbykayleigh.com. I had no experience in anything like that, and I’m a slight perfectionist, so I feel like it really came out exactly how I was hoping it would!! Plus, it’s a complete reflection of who I am a person from the style to the vibe of the whole website!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would do anything differently I think it’s all working out exactly how it was supposed to!
