Today we’d like to introduce you to Katy Bonfanti

Hi Katy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My passion for aesthetics began early. At just 17, fresh out of high school, I was drawn to the art of waxing, particularly eyebrows. This sparked a deeper interest, leading me to pursue advanced training in permanent makeup, including microblading, nano brows, eyeliner, and lip blushing. I amassed 8 certifications, constantly honing my skills.

Around five years into my career, the rise of single-needle/fine line tattooing captivated my artistic spirit. I began by practicing on synthetic skin, driven by a desire to explore this new creative avenue. Today, I continue to evolve as an artist, constantly seeking new challenges and expanding my artistic horizons.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After working at various spas, Its been 9 years I’ve pursued my lifelong dream of owning my own business. While the journey has been challenging, with unforeseen struggles and limited guidance, I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. I’ve learned invaluable lessons in areas like social media marketing, video creation, financial management, self-confidence, and the importance of sacrifice. These challenges have ultimately shaped me into the successful entrepreneur I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
With 13 years of experience as a Master Aesthetician, I’ve transitioned my passion to the art of fine line tattooing. I specialize in delicate designs, particularly floral bouquets and spine tattoos. My greatest pride lies in staying consistently busy while pursuing my artistic passion.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I envision a future where brick-and-mortar salons evolve into multi-faceted wellness spaces. These spaces will offer a holistic experience, combining beauty services like hairstyling and tattooing with amenities like coffee bars and relaxation areas. I believe there will be a strong emphasis on education and community within these spaces, fostering a supportive and engaging environment for both clients and professionals.
