Meet Katherine Iacuone of Desert Valley Chiropractic in Moon Valley and North Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Iacuone.

Katherine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2009 I purchased a very small struggling practice. The recession had hit and a lot had changed in healthcare almost overnight. I am sure a lot of people thought I was crazy about venturing into my own practice but the timing was right for my husband and I so we did it. The Moon Valley area proved to be an amazing community to build a practice in! It was hard, but we connected with a lot of people in the area and worked hard to build up the practice. Soon, my husband, Dr. Dave Iacuone was able to join me in the practice and from there we really began to thrive. We built our patient base and our clinic. We focused on excellent results and outstanding customer service. Today we are one of the top rated clinics in Phoenix and we have four amazing members of our staff who help us provide top notch service to our many patients. We will celebrate our tenth year in practice this December and we cannot wait to see what the next ten years bring!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been smooth but there have been some bumps along the way for sure! Healthcare and the insurance industry saw some really big changes right as we were starting. I think all businesses have some ups and down especially in the beginning but we are located in such an amazing community we have had a lot of opportunities to make connections there. Our patients have been wonderful and supportive they have referred to us and recommended us to friends and family we couldn’t do it without them! Building a strong team can be hard in any small business but we have wonderful staff who assist us. We have worked really hard to build a practice where we are helping people to feel better and live better.

Please tell us about your business.
We are a family chiropractic clinic we treat patients of all ages with conditions that range from recent injuries like sports injuries or car accidents to chronic conditions that people have struggled with for months or years. We use a low force or “gentle” chiropractic technique called Activator. The Activator is a hand held instrument that we use to put motion into the joints of the spine or other areas of pain and help to reduce pain and inflammation. One of the really nice benefits is we are able to do this without the twisting and cracking commonly associated with chiropractic care. Patients really like it! We combine the great results we get with Activator adjusting with a really high level of customer service, our goal is for our patients to understand their condition, understand how we can help reduce their symptoms and improve their lives, and make coming to Desert Valley Chiropractic as easy as possible!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is probably spending time with my grandparents on their farm in western Canada!
