Hi Julie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started Southpaw Marketing as a side hustle and to help some friends with random marketing projects. Since 2020, I have grown and scaled my business to discover my niche in PPC advertising and SEO. We still offer support with social media, website builds, and blog writing. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With any new business, you learn what works and what doesn’t. Each day brings new opportunities. My most recent discovery is to set business hours… and stick to them! As a business owner, your brain never shuts off. So, it can be hard to “leave work” for the day. But it’s so important to set the right boundaries with each new client so there are never any unmet expectations. This also allows space to refresh and reset the creative process for the next day.

We offer all digital marketing services but specialize in SEO and PPC advertising. Our team works in their niche of expertise so you are guaranteed the best work. We pride ourselves on positive working relationships. We are picky with who our clients are and we want to feel a genuine connection with each of our clients. 

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned is to hire reliable creatives who are good at things I am not. I used to try to do it all alone to save money. But I soon realized that there are other people who are better at some things and it’s not worth me wasting my time to get better at those things. I have chosen to hire the right people to help me reach the right goals.
