Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Acklin.
Hi Julie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started with a vision to help myself and help others.
As a covid survivor with lingering side effects, I found myself in a depressed state of mind. One day I picked up a paintbrush and found myself in another time, a happy one. One that allowed me to help others with my art and my visions as well as help myself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
THE LEAST FROM SMOOTH. It started off very difficult.
I never thought I would find myself where I am today. As a little girl, I was adopted and didn’t feel like I had many purposes, my beliefs and supports are what got me here today. Becoming a hidden gem in a large state is also hard, but I am proud to be considered a hidden gem.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Come up with a plan and execute it. Never allow failure and negative opinions to stop you from what you believe in and what you want to do. I wish I knew how difficult it would be and how to get through the obstacles I’ve endured.
