Meet Josiah Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josiah Rodriguez.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I began playing music at the age of nine and in my late teen years I developed a passion for recording and producing music. This brought me to the valley in early 2017 to attend the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences so that I could further pursue a career in the field of audio engineering. After completing the program, I worked as an intern at Premier Studios in Phoenix, AZ. I was able to learn a lot throughout the whole process and began to work as an assistant engineer on sessions, as well as with my own clients on the side. I now work full-time as a freelance recording/mixing engineer here in the valley.

Please tell us more about your work. What else should we know?
I assist musicians and bands with the process of translating their art into a tangible recording for them and their fans to share and enjoy. My hope is to make that process as easy as possible to allow the artist to focus on making something they are proud of without worrying about it coming out different than how they hear it in their head at the time of creation.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Just go for it. Obviously having some sort of financial net is very important and you should establish that by saving up beforehand, but I find that being too financially comfortable was the biggest burden on my goal to do this full-time. Having a sense of urgency creates an environment for no excuses. It is a lot of work, but at the end of the day, living frugally and getting to do what I love is better than all the riches and comfort in the world.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
There are a few projects that I have worked on that have not been released for public listening yet, but I am available to follow on Instagram and Facebook under Window Destruction Productions to check out small sneak peeks and stay updated for future releases. Most releases that are going to come out will be available for streaming on Spotify, iTunes, Apple music, etc.
