Meet Josh Ingram of Stone Creek Landscaping & Design in Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Ingram.

Josh, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2004, I started a landscaping company with my family not really having any direction or goals in mind, I was just hoping for success. After many trial and errors, I actually left my company to go work for one of the largest Landscaping companies in Arizona. I learned so much about myself, processes, setting goals and Leadership. I knew that working for someone else wasn’t for me, so I left that company and went back to Stone Creek Landscaping & Design and implemented a team concept and built a new foundation and set new goals, and now we compete with some of the largest landscaping companies in the valley.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
If anyone in business says it was easy I feel they would be lying. There has been and still is many sleepless nights and long stressful days. However, I am motivated by the challenges that come at me every single day. We have internal and external challenges that we face on a daily basis. Our biggest challenge is finding the right people that will fit within our belief system. We believe in having strong morals, values and integrity, but more so we want to build better individuals who can work on a team to reach the end goal so we are all successful.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Stone Creek Landscaping & Design story. Tell us more about the business.
Stone Creek Landscaping & Design is a Design, Build, and maintenance company. We have different departments that specialize in different aspects of landscaping. We have our maintenance division which focuses on HOA landscape management of properties and within that division is our water management team that does irrigation audits and manages the water on these properties to ensure our clients our not only using the proper amount of water but saving them money. We also have a Landscape Design team that creates cad drawings, 3D renderings and plot plans so people can see what their landscape will look like prior to our install crew taking over. That’s where our install and hardscaping crews come in and this team is the backbone to our company. We built ourselves designing and installing some of the most complex landscapes in the valley since 2004. There are so many landscaping companies out there that do amazing work and have great customer service and we strive to be as good or better than them. But I feel what sets us apart is we don’t care about getting the landscaping awards, (We care about doing phenomenal work) But what we care about most is being named as the top company to work for. We believe in taking care of our team first, setting them up for success, sending them to as many training and education courses that they want in order to better themselves as well as our company.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t really believe in luck. I believe that we go through different season in life and in business. There is good momentum and bad momentum. I feel that if you just continue to work hard and stay positive it will all pay off. The rewards might not be immediate but if you continue to push through you will get that good momentum and the rewards will start to show up.
