Meet Joseph Bills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Bills.

Joseph, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started writing my music at 15 years old. I loved putting the words together and creative ways to make people’s eyes get wide. I started doing it more, started performing and the response from the crowd was intoxicating! Oddly enough those closest to me seem to think it was just a phase, regardless of that I continued to create and share my creations with whoever would pay attention. It wasn’t until 2017 people starting to take notice of what I was doing. I won a contest to open up for Rick Ross, and since then I’ve opened for many other major artists and I’ve done shows in so many different venues it would take a page just to name them lol. The whole time knowing God has been blessing me and I always ensure to give him the glory for my accomplishments. I truly love what I do in the phrase #MAXOUT isn’t just something catchy I thought of it’s literally how I live my life. All the way in, in whatever I’m doing. I follow my motto “all faith, no fear” because that’s truly the best way I’ve found to live. I’ve been blessed with fans, friends, family and respect from peers whom I look up to and the best part is I know this is only the beginning.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road is definitely not been smooth. From losing friends because of life changes and choices from having people I thought were close to you turn their backs on me, to being ridiculed and ostracized because of the kindness and compassion I show. I chose to be unapologetically myself which used to hold me down from my own perspective, it wasn’t until I realized these are the things that make me special, the things that people who I’m supposed to touch, build up and influence need from me.

I almost lost my life as I know it doing things that I was never supposed to do and God humbled me down with the very real possibility of losing it all to the legal system. When I chose to change it around is when the blessings started to rain down. I just keep on my path knowing it’ll take me to my destiny, while rooting for others along the way.

Tell us about your business/company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
My brand #gotbills and my company Got Bills ENT. is a music based operation. Including merchandising, performances and releasing music and video content. “Josephbills.com I got bills shirts for sale holla at me” is one of the many phrases I’m known for. The most prominent of which is #MAXEDOUT because I believe you don’t have to “turn up” when you already live at 11! I aim to deliver an #OVERlit experience in all my endeavors. Never following the crowd but creating my wave is the cornerstone of my brand. I believe in working hard enough until those who you idolize want to work with you. There’s no room for mooching in the #maxoutmob. I believe that the work ethic and ideal of creating my own is what sets me apart. Never been one to coat tail or chase clout, I truly cherish each and every supporter of mine.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
2019 has been such a moment filled year which grew from the prior year and so on. The fact that it continues the upward trajectory is truly a blessing. My plans involve touring both nationally and internationally, releasing new content of all kinds, and making the brand so strong I no longer need to work my 9-5. One goal I had at the beginning of the year would be paid for every show I do knowing why each promoter was contacting me because of the movement I bring along with me. I’ve accomplished that goal and I KNOW by putting all of my efforts towards my new goal for the next year will be accomplished as well. And I only want to make a living from what I do and create would be able to employ all of those who believed me along the way. To offer opportunities to everyone that screams #MAXOUT #MAXOUT #MAXOUT! That’s the biggest goal for me.
