Meet Jose Patino of Mistical Pictures in West Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Patino.

Jose, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was in high school I took digital photography, which taught me to develop and edit my own photos as well as being creative and creating amazing pictures in which I can be proud of.

From then, my passion for photography grew even more, and I started taking pictures with my cellphone until I got a DSLR and film camera.

Then I started to take landscapes, animals, and then portraits. It is something that I wanted as my career, so I made that happen, and now I always wake up thinking of what I can create next. This is the best job I can possibly have doing something I love and get paid for it.

Has it been a smooth road?
There has been some struggles which include not getting clients and being a new photographer with no experience and no portfolio.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mistical Pictures story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a portrait photographer for the main part, but I also do other types of photography like sports, landscapes, and abstract. I am the most proud of creating my brand because it is something I never thought of being able to do. What sets me apart from the others is that for every photo shoot I’ve booked I take my beautiful Fiance which makes other female models more comfortable to be around and more fun to work with.

Is there a specific memory from when you were younger that you really miss?
My favorite childhood was going to the store with my mom to buy me a Kodak disposable camera and going around the neighborhood in my bike taking pictures.
