Meet Jordanne Pallesen of Olive Creative Strategies in Gilbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordanne Pallesen.

Jordanne, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been working in media and marketing for as long as I can remember. One of my first jobs in high school was working for KOLO News Channel 8 in Reno, NV. I was a camera operator and worked behind the scenes with the production team. I’ve always loved media and naturally found myself in journalism school at the University of Nevada, where I discovered PR and started interning for a local agency.

After college, I had sunny San Diego on my mind and was fortunate enough to land a job at Olive Creative Strategies (formerly Olive PR Solutions). Over the years, I’ve worked at a number of different start-ups expanding my marketing skillset and working with brands to learn the ins-and-outs of business. Ultimately, I found my way back to PR, and I’m now the Director of Arizona for Olive Creative Strategies. Here, I lead business development and amplify the stories of the most positively powerful people and brands.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Over the years, I have faced some incredibly hard learning lessons, but that’s exactly what they were, learning lessons. I’ve had to lead teams and learn that feedback is a gift. I have had to let go of employees due to budget constraints (which was the most significant challenge I have ever faced). However, it’s because of these challenges that I am where I am today and a better leader because of them.

Olive Creative Strategies is a national boutique public relations and marketing agency on a mission to amplify the stories of the most positively powerful brands and people. We are known for hard-hitting media relations results, robust and engaging social media campaigns, and thoughtful activations that create a buzz.

At Olive, we believe public relations and marketing are not about spinning a story to make something great. It’s about illuminating the greatness that already exists.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m not sure if I believe in luck… I believe in opportunity, and I believe I was prepared for every opportunity that has come my way. Being prepared to try something new has led me on an incredible adventure and offered valuable skills that help me thrive in my current position.
