Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Ricigliano.
Jordan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
A friend of many years and I started out as Twitch Arizona – focusing on the streaming platform of Twitch as our main source. We held various events throughout the valley and started to see a lot of interest in what we were doing. We were gaining so much attention that my friend, named Dave, was offered a job at Twitch headquarters in California.
It had been a big dream of his so I gave him my well wishes and continued on holding more and more events to the point where we were getting together with a group of 100+ people monthly.
I needed some help and wanted to expand further than Twitch so we re-branded as Stream Arizona. My wife, Amanda, came on-board and we’ve grown exponentially since the brand re-image.
Has it been a smooth road?
All businesses have issues – ours is no exception. Sponsors falling through last minute has been a big one – we get promised money or services and end up not seeing anything after some time. We even started doing some work outside of the state with a potential sponsor and unfortunately that didn’t work out as well.
Besides that – the obvious leadership issues (mainly the “power” getting to people’s heads).
Other than those – it’s been pretty smooth all throughout.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Stream Arizona story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a company based around streaming on Twitch, Mixer, YouTube and Facebook. We hold bi-monthly events at local restaurants and bars – averaging around 100 people at each event. We are the biggest in the state, and one of – if not the biggest in the country.
We’ve laid the foundation for many other states to accomplish what we have and we were one of the first to even think of bringing people out from behind their screens and into real life. We’ve helped so many people grow – not only as streamers but as humans as well.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Streaming isn’t going away any time soon and I don’t see us going away either. In the initial two years of Stream Arizona (as is it – post Twitch AZ) we’ve nearly sextupled in size.
5-10 years from now? I have no predictions – but I’m going to love to see how big we can get.
