Meet Jordan Darling of Dupe Loops

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Darling.

Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
One of the founders has had a lifelong love for Donuts, which came to a halt with a series of food allergy diagnoses. For the better part of the last 12 years, he has searched high and low for good baked goods and donuts that are allergy friendly, with little success. When new treats crossed his path, they usually claimed to be good but he was let down that they were not in fact good at all, or, they made him sick.

After leaving a career in the electric vehicle space, he decided to pursue one of his biggest passions, donuts, which was fueled by the need to create something that others like him could enjoy. He grabbed a close friend & their goal was to create a kick-ass brand and product that made people smile, and tasted like “the real thing”. As a result, not only are the loops gluten, dairy, soy, and nut free, but they’re also damn good donuts.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, not by any means! Creating an entirely new product from scratch that omitted some of the top allergens was not an easy feat.

To add to it, we wanted to do it on the move in a state-of-the-art food truck to bring our loops to our customers. Our food truck is a pathway to continually test out different markets of people and share our products with the masses.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Dupe Loops – Our donuts are called “Loops”. They’re damn good donuts that also happen to be gluten, dairy, soy, and nut free, but you wouldn’t know if you tried them and that’s the point! We set out to make a donut that tasted as good as “the real thing”, and we have achieved that if you ask our customers!

We are mobile – Our Loops are made on demand, every 28 seconds, in a state-of-the-art food truck. We prefer to serve the loops hot & fresh, so if a customer has to wait a minute for a hot donut, we consider that a success. Unlike a traditional food truck, we secure locations so our customers continually know where to find us.

We’re creating a brand that looks cool, tastes good, and gives our customers the experience of ordering anything they want from the menu without the concern of feeling sick.

On the flip side, we also love to “dupe” our gluten-loving customers; they order & try our products, and as they take a bite they have no idea they’re missing some of the major allergens. That was our goal, and we’re looking forward to duping many more people in the future. Our loops are smile generators for anyone with taste buds!

Any big plans?
We have been open since February of 2023, and are just getting started! We plan to expand our hours of operation, as well as the locations we park and the days we’re open in the coming months. The demand is great for our products so we look forward to serving more and more customers.
