Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Marsh.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 1986, during my college years, misting was introduced to Phoenix. It was love at first feel – I was amazed at how well this simple concept worked! Within a month, I started into the business, initially selling a product used to cool chickens.

MistAmerica was formed in 1994 to push the envelope with this technology – and we haven’t looked back since. Our newest line of Mist360 outdoor cooling fans are used worldwide – even working well in humid climates like Houston and Dubai!

MistAmerica is also known for its expertise in the design, manufacture and implementation of large-scale outdoor cooling projects – recently completing a number of systems at Dubai Safari Park.

New products are on the horizon – products that will improve on existing outdoor cooling technologies AND be more affordable!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The economic downturn in 2008 resulted in a decrease of 70% in residential sales. Had it not been for some large projects in Las Vegas, we may not be here today (and you would still be getting wet on a patios cooled withOUT our Mist360s!).

Of course, a successful business must be profitable. And we enjoy sharing the fruits of our success with our employees and are known to support them and their particular needs as they inevitably arise – and bless them when and where we can.

Success is doing our part to create/engineer a better environment – whether cooling as well as possible where needed for people and animal comfort, reducing energy use by replacing A/C where appropriate, pre-cooling to significantly increase efficiencies, or reducing pollutants in industry. We love to use our knowledge to help solve problems.
