Meet John Saxton of iLean Ride Co. in Avondale

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Saxton.

John, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Back in 2008 when the recession hit, we had a couple of contracting businesses and they went south, so we sat around for about three years doing nothing and then one day, we went on a Segway tour in Sedona and I was hooked on Segways and now, we do Segway Tours in the summertime and Canon City Colorado at the Royal Gorge Bridge and in the wintertime, we are doing tours at ISM Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. At ISM Raceway, we offer the Segways, fat tire scooters and Limo Golf Cart tours.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Finding locations to do the Segway tours is the hardest part. The Canon City Colorado Segway Tours just kind of fell into place, we worked for about 2 1/2 years waiting on the ISM raceway tours to happen, but it was well worth the wait!

iLean Ride Co. – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I think we have some of the most exciting Segway Tours Worldwide, we do a tour over the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado, it is the highest suspension bridge in North America and also in Colorado, we do Skyline Dr., Tours which is an 800 foot high hogback Mountain Ridge that in some places is straight down on both sides and you get to see dinosaur tracks on that tour and then, in the wintertime, we do tours around ISM Raceway which is very exciting, you get to do a lap on a NASCAR track and visit every inch of ISM raceway, the brand new $178 million renovated NASCAR track in Colorado, we have the world’s only Segway X track with hills dips whoops and a rhythm section like a dirtbike track only you get to ride segways on, it’s very exciting, so easy to ride and so much fun.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I am very proud of being chosen by ISM Raceway to do the tours on their fabulous property.
