Today we’d like to introduce you to Joel Haasenritter.
Hi Joel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to becoming an Oola Mind and Body Coach began when I was searching for answers to my struggles. We all have gone through those seasons in life where it seems everything is a struggle, and there are more questions than answers. Our search for purpose was the same. Our story begins ten years before we relocate to Phoenix. After my incredible wife’s health took a turn for the worse, I struggled to keep up as a business owner/operator, being a caretaker, and providing for the needs of three incredible children. For years, I felt helpless, not knowing how to take the next step. Depression and anxiety were my norm, even though I wouldn’t let it show. I knew change had to happen. And time was ticking down. So, we took a leap of faith in search of excellent health and a better way to live, leaving my thriving business, our support system, and family, and moved across the country. Transitions are hard. But they are necessary for change. And along the way, we found healthier options for life, a system, and a framework for balancing and growing the areas we all juggle. As we continue to grow in our purpose, I have made it my life’s passion to help others struggling to take that next step. But not just for you but for the legacy you leave behind. We all leave a legacy. I want yours to be impactful. And that starts with you! If you are at that point where you know you need change but aren’t sure how or what to do, let’s work together to transform your way of life. For you and for those you care for. Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Transitions are always challenging. They require us to move outside the comfort of the known and into the uncertain. And that always brings stress and worry that can weigh us down. For us, it was a chance for a new start and brought with it all the things that go along with that! Where would we live? Could we get our daughter into the right schools? Could I find a job that would support our family’s needs and my wife’s medical conditions? Would we find a way to thrive or merely survive? So many questions! Before we moved, I put much energy into a backup plan. I applied the people skills I had learned through a lifetime of concert piano service, business building, and entrepreneurship. And we have been blessed at every step along this path.
Thanks for sharing that. Please tell us more about your business.
My coaching group, Wayfinders For Life, was birthed out of our intention and devotion to always finding a way, even when there seems to be no way. And the reality that we were never meant to merely exist where we go through our day like a zombie, oblivious to the beauty in nature, the joys of close relationships, and the power of having a bigger vision for your life! Wayfinders For Life frees people from mental, physical, and financial stress to connect to their purpose and start living the legacy they were meant to leave. The daily stress we all face is real and heavy and takes us away from the lives we were meant to live. It takes a holistic approach to balancing the mental, physical, and emotional stressors while crafting a life you love and were destined for so you can live a life of design, not default. We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Apart from the apparent global devastation, isolation had one of the most significant impacts on humanity. While that may seem obvious, we are better together than alone when you look deeply at human behavior. Depression, self-sabotage, and so many of humanity’s worst mental health issues happen in isolation. To combat this, surrounding yourself with a community of positive people committed to bringing out the best in each other is crucial. Your tribe, your inner circle, and the people you choose to associate with should be there for two main reasons:
- To give you a hand up when you’ve stumbled (and we’ve all been there!).
- And to give you tough love when you need a little extra “motivation” to do what you said you would do. 🙂
If you can find a tribe that provides this for you and one that you can support in the same way, it will change your life in beautiful and meaningful ways.
