Meet Joe Andrade of Olympiada Gear in Yuma

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Andrade.

Joe, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was an underdog, growing up as a baseball player. I faced every form of struggle where I had to prove many doubters and knock doors down. I worked my way through college as a catcher. Fast forward to my senior year I had the best outcome with all major collegiate awards at Dixie state university.

I was projected to get drafted in the mid rounds in the MLB draft. At that point, I thought my hard work would pay off. Instead, it didn’t pay off but I kept putting in work on the field until I received a late sign call by the Milwaukee Brewers. I followed up to play as a professional athlete for a few years. As rough as pro ball is, my career ended and got released. Soon after, I reconnected with my best friend Justin Jarvis and started our own fitness equipment company called Olympiada gear. My plan of action evolved in the Crossfit and Olympic weightlifting world. I utilized my skills to compete in USA weightlifting to cross-market Olympiada and be the face of my brand. In the last two years, I have made too 10 in the country and still currently competing. Olympiada is on its five years in business holding more than 25 different products to choose from. We are on Amazon, Groupon, Walmart, tiger fitness, and in more than 15 supplement retail stores in Las Vegas. I still have not paid myself a dime! It’s an underdog story where you have to be self-made and make something out of nothing!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are one too many obstacles through my journey but I would love to express those stories in the interview process.

Olympiada Gear – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I currently have a side business where I train athletes in health fitness and Olympic lifting.

I am also an independent contractor for titan solar power.

I’m known for being the funniest and kinda strong guy in the gym! The guy with many jobs haha.

I’m most proud of sticking with my belief in the brand and my partner while facing all adversity. I started this brand at 24 years old and organically building this brand with the help of the fitness network.

I believe what sets apart Olympiada from other brands is that we are all about positive gains mentally and physically when you wear our swagged out equipment. This brand is built by athletes, and we live it just as much as the first-day fitness goer. We support all forms of gainz I’m the fitness industry and support the beginners to the pros!

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were just starting out?
I wouldn’t change anything, to be honest. Everything in this journey was placed at the right moment to create Olympiada.
