Meet JJ Briles of Stellar Adventures in Greater Phoenix Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to JJ Briles.

Thanks for sharing your story with us JJ. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 1997, the founder of Stellar Adventures set out on a little expedition of his own: to build a premier adventure company specializing in invigorating and informative off-road excursions in the Sonoran Desert. Since then, the team at Stellar Adventures has worked tirelessly to create one of the largest and most diverse family-owned outfitters of adventure and Southwestern style.

If it takes a village to raise a child, imagine what it takes to raise a company rooted in adrenaline and off-roading vehicles! From our newest mechanic all the way to our Chief Adventurer, every member of the Stellar Adventures family has three common goals: To uphold the very highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility, to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for each client and to see to it that every client of Stellar Adventures comes away feeling exhilarated and satisfied.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an off-road company, we don’t get to enjoy too many “smooth roads” (LOL). In all seriousness, every business has its struggles. We are celebrating 20 years of offering the most unique tours in Arizona. We have made it through the 9-11 transportation stoppage and the most recent recession to name a few.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is where preparation meets opportunity! So I definitely believe luck has played a role in my life and my business. I moved to Arizona right after graduation from college in Indiana. I was lucky enough to get a job as a concierge at the world famous Phoenician Resort. this is where is first realized the demand for the off-road desert tour and the lack of quality supply of companies that offer this experience. I was able to borrow enough money from family to get my new found dream rolling. Now Stellar Adventures is celebrating 20 years of business!
