Meet Jim DesRochers of Dealers Auto Auction of the Southwest in Central Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim DesRochers.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Dealers started 15 years ago as a niche wholesale auto auction competing with two of the nation’s largest chain auctions, Manheim and Adesa.

Dealers created a niche in the sub-prime market and now serves a wide swath of Arizona dealers and consigns vehicles from major franchise dealers and national sub-prime lenders.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Competing with major national players like Cox Automotive that owns the Manheim Auction chain, AutoTrader, Kelly Blue Book and other digital systems, requires relationship building and superior service, execution and heavy use of mobile technology and a marketing plan that makes your space unique.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Dealers Auto Auction of the Southwest – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We consign vehicles, motorcycles, RV’’s, franchise dealer trades, sub-prime lender repos from AZ, New Mexico and Nevada and sell in-lane and online through all those states and California abs across the border to Mexico.

We are proud that we innovated CarFax Transparent Transactions, Mexico Ready and other innovative programs and that our DAASW.com site is bi-lingual.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We look forward to increasing our online presence with our HD Simulcast video system and continuing to create a mobile technology friendly working, consigning and buying environment in the older vehicle market.
