Meet Jessie Corder of Jessie Lee Photography in Gilbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessie Corder.

Jessie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am very passionate about photography and have always loved creating art! When I was five, I was convinced I’d grow up to be an artist. At the time, I was thinking this would happen by becoming a famous painter or sculptor, and although that dream has changed some along the way, I still need to give my 5-year-old self some credit for being crazy enough to chase her wildest dreams. Here I am, over 15 years later, and I haven’t stopped dreaming or chasing. This life-long passion has evolved into a photography business where I find joy in serving my happy clients by providing them with picture-perfect memories. I hope to continue creating, inspiring, and growing with photography for years and years to come.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Having first started my photography business as a junior in high school, I have been on a very slow and somewhat unsteady road to success over the last 4 years. I’m sure many creatives can relate to some of what I have experienced – slow seasons, creative blocks, not knowing what’s next for my business, and the list goes on. I have learned a lot and grown even more through my mistakes for over a year. And I have found that these mistakes have been important in the making of what Jessie Lee Photography is today.

Please tell us about Jessie Lee Photography.
I photograph moments and memories for myself and others – it’s what I’m best at! In fact, I’m actively working on a photography degree through Northern Arizona University to back up my passion and skill.

When it comes down to it, I would say I’m best known as an Arizona-based travel, wedding, and portrait photographer on a mission to capture beautiful moments, happy people, and the joys of life. I do this by documenting and sharing my own personal adventures and by offering my photography services to Arizona residents, specifically in-love couples, and graduating seniors.

I also offer nature prints and an adventure blog for everyone to follow along with which makes me stand out from other photographers in my area. I’m most proud of this company because of all that’s been accomplished through the help of hard work and amazing clients.

Nothing makes me happier than watching others make meaningful connections with my photos. It’s why I fell in love with art and photography in the first place! I have witnessed how impactful a photograph can be first hand. Whether it’s used to express emotion, to inspire a desire to travel or to bring back a precious moment lost in time, one single image can add so much joy to one’s life.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I was 11-years-old, I got my first point-and-shoot camera for Christmas, and I couldn’t have been more excited! I spent the rest of that Christmas Day capturing every moment, detail, and portrait I could. It was from that point on that I began taking pictures every chance I got. This was an important moment in my childhood because this was when I first discovered my love for photography.
