Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Johnson.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am mainly profitable through my paintings; however, I work in many mediums- I am a bold contemporary artist, photographer, illustrator, web and brand designer, creative project developer, marketing specialist, media planner; the list goes on. This is my passion, my hustle, and my artistic life, to which I am truly dedicated.
Please tell us about your art.
I love to showcase my art and creative side. I am best known for my edgy subject matter, bright colors and ability to create a piece of work that truly stands out. With the help of acrylic paint, I create expressive and colorful paintings. Trends are temporary, whatever happens – colors and art somehow pierce straight to the human soul. It’s kind of color therapy for nowadays society- well, for me at least!
I have an active interest in inviting the world to help continue this process of art and expression. Trying my best to eviat from the common mold of a “self-involved” and “stubborn artist,” it is my mission to continue creating for others. My work, ranging from bare and naked to boldly dynamic, calls for an ongoing conversation of human values and the continued building of a cultural perspective.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success for an artist can be measured in many different ways, many different mediums.
I think success for an artist plays a huge role in who is supporting them and their work. There are many ways to help your favorite artist without even purchasing anything from them. I understand that art is a luxury purchase and I’d never fault anyone for choosing not to spend their money in that way. Small things such as engaging with their content on posts, sharing and tagging your work through their pages, and recommending their work to friends who are interested in the arts. Success for an artist in my mind means having the support from your community.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
People can primarily see my artwork featured on my social media page such as Instagram. I’m also in the process of completing my artist web page for easier access to not only my acrylic paintings but my digital graphic art as well. Website should be ready to go live in the near, near future!
