Meet Jenny Arabo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Arabo.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I have been living in the Phoenix valley for over 18 years. I grew up in Detroit, Michigan. I am the first generation born American in my family and I had a lot to learn about the American culture. The one thing that I knew I was passionate about since my younger years was the fact that I needed to capture life’s every moment. My father took a lot of photos of me growing up. There is no shortage of childhood reminiscing. My dad is probably where I got my love of photography. I have had so many different cameras throughout my life and everyone knows me as the selfie queen. Although, my selfies usually have anywhere from 4-20 people in them. I love taking pictures of just about anything!

Please tell us about your art.
My favorite thing to do is take photos of nature, animals, and people. I want to inspire others and show them the beauty in our world. I am always looking to capture something special and memorable. Candid photos are my most favorite. If I could just walk around with a camera around my neck 24/7 life would be even better. There are always moments that I see and I wish that I had my camera with me. For example, yesterday on my way home from work I saw a complete rainbow. If I had my camera I would have pulled over to capture that incredible meteorological phenomenon. I want people to smile and be happy when they look at my art.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
If you are super passionate about something and want to make a business out of it then do it. Keep on pursuing what you love to do. You might get frustrated or unsure of how to do something, but that is completely fine. Keep educating yourself and learning from others. Find a mentor and get on YouTube. There are so many free resources out there for you to learn the basics. When you hit the wall just walk away and come back. You can do this and it is possible to make your dreams come to reality. Do not give up! <3
