Meet Jennifer Hassett of A Perfect Fit Nanny Placement Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hassett.

Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
A Perfect Fit was founded in 2009 by a close friend of mine, Janet Pemper. We met and became friends while we were both nannying for families in Scottsdale. I started working as a placement coordinator for A Perfect Fit Nanny Agency in 2011. For the next five years, I continued my nanny career, learned the placement side of the industry working for A Perfect Fit, and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Human Relations. During my time as a nanny, I had the pleasure of meeting countless dedicated, passionate, and highly-skilled nannies in action. This proved to be invaluable when helping to build a large, high-quality pool of candidates for the agency. Janet, the owner at the time, was working hard, growing the business as well as raising a beautiful, busy family. Once I completed my education and moved on from nannying when the kids I cared for started school, I was ready to transition into a more integral role with the company. The timing couldn’t have been better because Janet was ready to pass the torch so she could focus her energy solely on her growing family. In January 2016, I officially took over A Perfect Fit and started running the company full time! Since becoming owner, I have opened two additional branches, one in Denver, CO and one in Dallas, TX. We have grown an amazing team of nanny and placement coordinators, which has helped tremendously with getting the agency to where it is today. We are now up to a staff of 5 and working on hiring our 6th employee currently. So exciting!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have been very lucky to not have many roadblocks along the way. The biggest challenge we face on a regular basis is our staff balancing work and family life. Our team works remotely, which means “office hours” are not always clear cut. We are excited to have recently started implementing a new phone system that allows us to set our business hours and also forward after-hours call to a designated line so that we can focus on our families outside of business hours but our customers are still taken care of when needed.

We are a full-service nanny agency dedicated to delivering personal assistance in finding the right candidate for every family. We provide guidance throughout the search and work closely with our families to meet their childcare needs. We offer a wide array of services from full-time and part-time nannies to household managers and newborn care specialists. We take great pride in the many options we offer to our families as well as the thorough screening process we conduct with our nannies. We get to know each and every candidate that comes our way so we know exactly who we are referring out and why we feel they would be a good fit for a specific family. We’ve also been voted as the best nanny agency in Phoenix by AZ Foothills Magazine for two years in a row, 2017 and 2018!

So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
We are excited to announce that we will soon be offering three different packages for our families to choose from, so we will no longer be a “one size fits all” agency. The different packages will offer a variety of services to choose from, which will include upgrades such as personality tests, drug screening, theme-based activity newsletters, and much more!
