Meet Jenn Stone of Finishing Well at E.O.L., LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Stone.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My path to becoming an end-of-life doula wasn’t something I ever sat down and mapped out—it unfolded through both personal heartbreak and professional experience. On the personal side, I’ve said goodbye to many loved ones—my grandma, my bonus mom, several beloved pets, and even the relationships I once had with my dad and best friend as dementia has changed them. Each of those losses opened my heart and taught me how sacred the end of life really is, and how important it is to finish well—with dignity, peace, and presence.

Professionally, I spent years as a Crisis Responder with the City of Phoenix. I was often called into homes and hospital rooms during moments families never expected—sudden deaths, medical emergencies, and traumatic loss. Those experiences taught me how to show up with steadiness and compassion in the middle of raw chaos, and they prepared me to walk with others through the tender territory of grief and transition. That training and perspective are now woven into everything I do as a Certified End-of-Life Doula.

In this role, I support individuals and families through the emotional, spiritual, and practical aspects of dying. Sometimes that looks like sitting quietly at the bedside, sometimes it’s guiding legacy conversations, and often it’s being an extra set of eyes and ears for hospice so families don’t feel alone. My goal is always to create space for people to feel supported, understood, and safe as they finish well.

I first learned Reiki to bring an added layer of comfort and peace to my doula clients. After experiencing how restorative it was for me personally, I knew it was something I wanted to share more widely as I believe nervous system/emotional/mental regulation is just as vital as medical care. Today, I offer Reiki not only to those at the end of life, but also to caregivers and anyone navigating life’s challenges. Reiki’s gentle, calming energy creates moments of stillness and restoration when they’re needed most.

And because I’ve seen how money stress can overshadow sacred end-of-life moments, I also became passionate about financial empowerment. Through my business, Finishing Well at EOL, LLC, I teach people how to save, grow, and protect their money so they can live with confidence and finish well financially, too. With modern tools like insurance with living benefits, families can focus on what matters most—being present with each other—without the weight of financial fear.

For me, whether it’s through doula care, Reiki, or financial empowerment, it all comes back to one belief: everyone deserves to finish well—in life, with love, and with legacy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. After my grandma passed, I was left with what I call a “caregiver void.” For almost exactly 13 months, I had poured myself into her care, and suddenly I didn’t know what to do with all that love and attention. That’s how I found myself in Crisis Response.

Just a week shy of two years later, my bonus mom left us after a 3-1/2 year cancer journey, and I was grieving her loss while also moving forward with my doula certification. I was still working full-time at the time, so I knew I wasn’t ready to take on an end-of-life client. One way I could feel like I was advocating for a better end-of-life at that time though was by hosting monthly Death Cafés. It gave me an outlet, but it was exhausting to juggle my job, my training, and my grief while trying to figure out how to eventually step out of full-time work and become the kind of doula I wanted to be—available to families on somewhat short notice.

Less than a year after my bonus mom passed, my dad’s dementia was progressing, and I was stepping into the role of Power of Attorney. Navigating his legal and financial affairs was stressful, especially because he didn’t want to talk about end-of-life. I learned firsthand how difficult it is to make decisions for another adult when those conversations never happen. Without proper planning, you find yourself thrown into the deep end of complex medical, legal, and financial systems—at the very moment when you’re also trying to process your own grief.

All of these challenges shaped me. They deepened my empathy and gave me a clearer vision of what it means to truly finish well—not only for the person at the end of life, but for the loved ones who are left behind. And that’s why I created Finishing Well at EOL, LLC. My work is about helping families have those tender conversations early, while there’s still time to plan, prepare, and put both care and financial protections in place. No one should have to walk that road alone. As a doula and financial educator, I’m honored to guide those conversations so families can face the future with more peace, presence, and confidence—and ultimately, finish well emotionally, spiritually, and financially.

As you know, we’re big fans of Finishing Well at E.O.L., LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Finishing Well at EOL, LLC was created with one clear vision: to educate and empower people to face life’s biggest transitions—emotionally, spiritually, and financially—with confidence and compassion. Everything I do is rooted in education, because I believe knowledge paired with support is what truly sets people free to finish well.

As an End-of-Life Doula, I specialize in walking with individuals and families through the sacred final chapter of life. Many people don’t realize what a doula can bring to the table—emotional presence, practical guidance, and the ability to hold conversations that feel too heavy for families to carry alone. I’m known for creating a safe, non-judgmental space where people can talk openly about death, dying, and legacy. And yes—sometimes those conversations include laughter. Humor doesn’t erase the gravity of the moment, but it gives us all a breath of relief. I’ve seen how a shared laugh in a hard space can be just as healing as a tear.

As a Reiki practitioner, I teach people the value of slowing down and giving themselves permission to rest. Reiki is more than just energy work—it’s like an exhale for your whole being. Whether I’m sharing it at the bedside or offering it in the community, I help people understand how this gentle practice supports them through life’s transitions. Sometimes that looks like giving a caregiver 30 minutes on my Reiki table while I remind them, “You can’t pour from an empty cup—but you can nap while I pour Reiki into you.”

And as a Financial Educator, I’m most proud of helping people—especially women—gain clarity and confidence with their money. Let’s be honest: most of us didn’t grow up learning about compound interest or insurance with living benefits. But we did grow up with jokes about money being stressful—and I like to flip that script. My events and workshops are full of simple drawings, lighthearted dad jokes, and straight talk that makes money feel less intimidating. I’ve seen people walk in with fear written all over their faces and walk out smiling, saying, “That felt like a breath of fresh air!”

What truly sets me apart is that I bridge three worlds that don’t usually sit at the same table—end-of-life care, energy work, and financial empowerment—and I bring humor and levity to all of them. Death and money are two of the heaviest topics out there, but they don’t have to feel that way. My approach is heartfelt, hopeful, and yes—sometimes funny—because I believe laughter and lightness are just as essential as planning and presence.

At the end of the day, my brand promise is simple: to meet people where they are and walk with them so they never feel alone—whether they’re facing the end of life, seeking emotional or spiritual balance, or looking for financial peace of mind. I’m proud that Finishing Well at EOL, LLC reflects not just what I do, but what I believe: that everyone deserves the chance to finish well, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
