Meet Jay Hague of Elite Event Services in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Hague.

Jay, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began my business back in Feb of 2001 as a wedding and event photography business by the name of Elite Photo. We had great success in the early stages of the photography business but we were always asked by clients for referrals for wedding DJs and MCs. The owner of Elite Photo then created Elite Event Services so we could cater to a wider range of wedding and corporate event client needs. After adding DJ services to our lineup, we began to invest into high quality, best in the industry equipment. We now offer DJ, MC, Sound, Lighting, MC and Photography services to our wedding and corporate event clients. We are regarded as one of the top companies in the valley in our industry. We have built our name on providing our clients with top notch customer service, quality work and the best equipment available. We have won numerous awards for our services including Best of the Valley by Arizona Foothills Magazine, Best of Phoenix from the Phoenix New Times and the Bride’s Choice Award from Brides Magazine. We have also been showcased in a feature article with the top DJ magazine in the world, DJ Times. We take a lot of pride in the services we provide and our high-profile clientele and 100% 5 star reviews on every event planning site around is a testament to our commitment to providing our clients with the best.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have been pretty fortunate. We stay busy and for the most part, its smooth sailing. We still deal with new companies who start out not knowing where to price their services and some prospective clients expecting us to match the prices of these “fly by night” DJs. We hold our ground, we know our worth and our repeat clientele knows that they get what they pay for.

We provide top of the line DJ, MC, Sound, Lighting and Event Photography Services. We are known for our ability to keep our wedding and corporate event clients 100% happy and always having a good time! We have what it takes to keep the crowd on the dance floor and we know what it takes to earn their repeat business. Some of the things we are most proud of are the numerous awards we have won, the many recognitions we have received and the ability to provide our services for some very prestigious events year after year. We have provided services to some of the most recognized businesses in the world such as Disney Cruise Lines, Home Depot, Pepsi, Audi Automobiles, Oakley and the NFL. We have been honored to have provided services to the NFL for Super Bowl 49 in Arizona, Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco CA and Super Bowl 51 in Houston Texas. A few things that set us apart from others who are in the same business… we do not cut corners! We will not offer a discounted rate in exchange for lower quality equipment or services and we always focus on providing the best customer service in the industry!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always working hard to get what I wanted. I set my goals high and I pursued those goals until they were met. I was always very outgoing and could carry on a conversation with just about anyone. I enjoyed tinkering with electronics, cars and motorcycles. I grew up working on cars since as early as I could remember…. far before I could even legally drive. I always had ways of making money, from newspaper routes to mowing lawns to washing cars and cleaning up at the auto shop my father worked at. I had my first real part time job at 14 years old and a full-time job by 16. I had my own apartment before my 18th birthday. I have always been an innovator and one to always want to be a step ahead. Quality of work and work ethic have always been something I have been passionate about…do it right the first time or don’t do it at all!
