Meet Jamie Korus Pearce of Alliance Home Loans in North Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Korus Pearce.

Jamie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began my career in the mortgage industry in 2002 as a Mortgage Loan Originator. I quickly fell in the love with the industry because I saw the incredible direct effect we have on peoples’ lives and our communities by providing financing for them to build equity in a home of their own as a place to create their families’ memories. I felt that there was a need for a different kind of mortgage company than those I had experiences with so, in 2006 I decided to start Alliance Home Loans in an effort to further improve the real estate finance industry. I desired to not build the biggest mortgage company, but to build the best boutique mortgage company that truly cares about its employees and customers.

When I first started getting involved in our industry through our National Trade Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association, I realized that the industry was dominated and decision by older white males who only ever ate at chain steak houses. That really inspired me to chain this industry “one steak at time” by being a strong woman who influenced the industry and at Alliance we do just that by creating relationships and improving lives through real estate financing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting and growing Alliance Home Loans, I have definitely been faced with struggles along the way. I started the company at the beginning of the Recession which brought challenges to the growth of the company due to the market conditions. Additionally, at this time the regulatory environment was changing dramatically which posed greater requirements and increased the cost to conduct business. I am fortunate to have a great group of people at Alliance who were smart, diligent and motivated to help us navigate through the challenging times and grow Alliance to what we are today.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Alliance Home Loans – what should we know?
Alliance Home Loans is a residential mortgage company that offers real estate financing for Conventional, Government (FHA, VA, USDA), Jumbo, Reverse Mortgages, Alternative financing and Construction loans. While our headquarters is in Phoenix, we have branches Valley wide as well as in 6 other states and providing financing throughout 30 states.

We are best known for providing old fashioned underwriting methods where we truly look at every single loan from every angle in an effort to help as many people as possible. Before a loan can be denied, we require that multiple Underwriters review the loan to ensure that each and every client receives true diligence and consideration in helping them achieve their home and finance goals.

This truly sets us apart from our competitors and I am very proud of our three pillars that, along with our three pillars: Culture, Charity and Advocacy. Our culture is one of family, teamwork and transparency. It is the first thing that people notice when they walk through our doors and we have received many awards and recognition for being considered a “best place to work” by our employees and this transcends to the way that we treat all of our clients.

I feel very strongly that we are fortunate and successful because the people of our community are entrusting us with their largest financial transaction and it is our responsibility to thank them for that by giving back to our community. In order to ensure this occurs, we have the ACTION Committee (Alliance Committed To Improving Our Neighborhoods) that organizes a different charitable event very quarter to allow our employees and their families to give back with their time, money and hearts. Lastly, Alliance is strong for our advocacy efforts. Unlike many other mortgage companies we don’t just reactive to policy and change. We are a part of the system and are actively in engage in our National Trade Association and our people of Congress and the Senate to ensure that policy and regulation that is made is in the best interest of our industry and our clients.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Every person who works at Alliance deserves credit for where we are as a company today. It is us as a team that has worked together supporting each other to ensure that we are successful. There would not be enough pages in this magazine to allow me to call each and every person out but each do deserve credit and recognition. There are countless stories that we have of support, self and family sacrifice and innovation that have led to the culture and company that we are today. I feel so fortunate to know everyone at Alliance and to be able to work by their side.
