Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqui Marzolo.
Hi Jacqui, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I always dreamt of being a wedding planner, I had a book full of different weddings, themes, dresses, you name it! When I first started at ASU, I was presented with the opportunity to intern at a Scottsdale Wedding Planning Company, and I jumped on it. I interned with them for about two years and gained a lot of valuable experience and insight into the industry. After my internship, I turned to a different career path, graduated in Finance & Data Analytics and decided to work as a full-time financial analysis. My recent endeavor was unexpected but the most fulfilling adventure that I’ve decided to pursue. Two of my closest friends got engaged on May 6th, and within three weeks, I helped them plan the wedding that they’ve always imagined. Putting Stevie & Jackson’s wedding together for them lit the fire inside of me and inspired me to get back into the industry, start my own wedding planning company and get me to where I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With such a quick wedding that catapulted me back into the industry, it’s been an interesting experience to say the least. The biggest obstacle that I face is making a name for myself, which comes with time of course. This is not the easiest industry to be a young professional in, but working with couples & seeing their dream day come together makes it all worth it and is so rewarding! Every interaction that I’ve had and connection I’ve made so far has been exciting and worthwhile. I’m excited to watch my business grow, continue to grow my portfolio and make those connections both in the Phoenix area and beyond!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a wedding and event planner based in Arizona that doesn’t focus on budget. I DIY-ed a lot of Stevie & Jackson’s wedding and proved to myself that Pinterest and Instagram worthy weddings aren’t confined to a certain budget. Creativity plays a big part in coordinating a dream wedding, and you don’t need to run your wallet thin to make that happen. I am a full-time financial analyst, planning weddings after hours as I build my business up. This has allowed me to focus more on the connections that I’m making more than the price tag. There’s nothing that makes me happier than being a small part of someone’s big day by making their wedding dreams come together.
How do you think about happiness?
Planning the biggest day of someone’s life brings me so much joy and makes my heart so full! It was such an easy decision to begin to start Events by Jacqui because this is my true passion. There is nothing that compares to seeing all the little details come together for two people, it makes all of the work worth it, Every. Single. Time.
