Meet Ivan Orellana of Rio Rico

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivan Orellana.

Ivan Orellana

Hi Ivan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Heavily influenced by Vicente Fernandez at the age of 4, I was invested in my culture and roots. It started with a guitar and followed with my voice in my teens. I participated in mariachi and public events, playing in restaurants, and soon enough, I was earning to perform as a solo vocal guitarist. Recently, it has been a significant milestone in my career in La Voz, Mexico.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Career-wise, getting record labels and trustworthy people to guide me has been a struggle. Starting with no industry connections has made my journey very solitaire, and I’ve had to knock on plenty of doors along the way.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a full-time musician specializing in strings and vocals. I’m known for being a singer and the life of the party. I’m proud of participating in La Voz, Mexico, of being able to compose my songs, and of how much I’ve improved my talents. My passion sets me apart from others. I am dedicated to every concert/gig and committed to chasing a dream.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I want to share the importance of remembering where you come from and your roots and never stopping chasing a dream. Always be true to yourself.
