Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabel Rodriguez.

Isabel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story starts back in 2009, I had no ideas what I was getting myself into when I decided to sign up for massage school. This was something I intuitively thought was a good fit for me. To my surprise, it was the best thing o ever did in this life. I’ve been a licensed massage therapist in the state of Arizona for over 10 years now. Just recently, I upped my skills and became a certified yoga instructor!

After being in massage therapy for over ten years, it has changed my life for the better. Adding yoga to my set of skills, was one of the best things I could have done because massage and yoga go hand in hand together beautifully. I can help people heal and relax through a yoga or massage session. It gives me the greatest satisfaction, that my work is physically changing people for the better.

I’ve worked at day spas, clinics and resorts during my years as a massage therapist. For some reason, I was compelled to start my very own business. I love being able to help clients heal and relax on my terms. It’s been such a blessing, and I’m so grateful for the people and the supporters who have helped me along the way to make my dreams happen!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would be lying if I said it was easy sailing trying to start your own business. It takes a lot of courage, and strength to be willing to do the things you have to do. One of the biggest struggles for me was “self-doubt.” I know what I’m capable of as a business owner and as far as the services I have the offer. There’s always that little voice in the back of your head that says, “What if I’m not good enough?” This whole self doubt thing was getting old!

Eventually, I had to seek out support from friends and other avenues. I had to keep telling myself that “I got this, quit self doubting your abilities and get back to work!” Luckily, I’ve been able to push through my self-doubt and continue to strive for the better!

Please tell us about your business.
I consider myself a mindful massage therapist and yoga instructor. Meaning, I see what’s going on in the physical body as well as the spiritual body. I will customize any of my massage and yoga services to address and fit your needs. I’m well versed in several massage techniques and I like to incorporate a little bit of energetic healing in all my services as well.

We are all human, I will never judge you for showing up exactly who you are when coming to me for a service. My goal is to help you in any way that I can, through a massage service or yoga service. Let’s face it, we live in a stressful society and if I can bring you any peace and comfort than I’ve done my “job.”

I specialize in Deep Tissue, Sports, Prenatal and Swedish Massage. I specialize in one-on-one yoga sessions to fit the needs of a person who doesn’t want to be in a large yoga classroom setting.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
As of right now, I don’t have anything that I would have done differently. I am still learning as I go, and I am sure that in the future I will have those moments where I would want to have done things differently. This is why it’s so important to always keep learning and except the knowledge that is given to you!
