Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Verduzco.
Isaac, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My love and true respect for the art came to me when I was four years old staying up late to watch spider-man in my onesie, holding my blues clues pillow, in the wonder of how they created such a fantasy in my real world. I was hooked! selling all my collectible toys to buy a camera, a computer and studying everything growing up over the years from cinematography, writing, critiquing, editing, color-grading, which all completes me as a Director. I know the vision from the birth of it’s a conversation to the final product. When I was 18 I quit my two jobs serving sandwiches at the subway, and as a behavioral coach taking care of students with autism.
I became a certified Director, Producer, and Screen writer through the Los Angeles film connection. At 19 I took a risk to renovate a building and opened my own fully operated photography studio making a profit. Collecting my earnings over the years I have invested it towards improving the quality of my craft. I’ve been blessed enough to find many different avenues of clientele and through them travel the world for my services. From directing Music video short films, Weddings, commercials, school district programs, fashion editorials, and consulting.
My inspiration comes from a very vulnerable place. The work of Charlie Chaplin, Edger Allan Poe, Christopher Nolan, John Hughes has influenced me on a certain type of creative pathway. I can watch and appreciate any genre from musicals to horror to syfi action but I love low budget, film makers. I strictly listen to music from out of this time period because it helps inspire me. My desire out of my career is to flesh out full length movies for Phoenix Arizona to see at the theaters and have well rounded conversations afterward. I’m now 21 and I still have my whole life ahead of me.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Failure is a great teacher. If you’re open minded, every mistake has a valuable lesson to offer. I was homeless for a period in my life, feeling very alone and it was tough not letting it affect my work. I struggled to find my identity as a creator while I was forcing myself to create. I always thought I have no idea what I’m doing, but it’d be a shame for me to let this drive and this passion go to waste.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Do you feel like our city is a good place for businesses like yours? If someone was just starting out, would you recommend them starting out here? If not, what can our city do to improve?
Phoenix remains the fifth most populous city. My favorite thing is the arts community is very present. It’s filled with talented, creative, beautiful individuals and they have to step forward and just create. we all need to support each other and do more challenging work with one another to put this city on the radar. Thank you for your time.
