Meet Indian Antao of Mesa international Film Festival in Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Indian Antao.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Indian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My passion for music initially led me to produce and promote local, regional, national, and international talent at various venues in New Jersey. After rooting myself in the music industry, I went on to work in radio and video promotion with TVT Records, the largest independent record label at the time. In my tenure with TVT, I earned a few gold and platinum records working with bands like KMFDM, Sevendust, Pitbull, and Sister Machine Gun, to name a few. In 1999, I left TVT to start my record label, Gig Records. Gig released more than 60 records and worked bands like The Vibrators, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff, and many others.

Producing innovative marketing campaigns for Gig artists drew attention from other record labels, leading me to the next chapter of my career. I started a marketing company, producing promotional tours for major label bands like Coldplay, Kiss, Papa Roach, and Radiohead. Working on national and international levels with major labels and corporations led me to my current brand activation company, Motor Media. Today, I work with music in various capacities by booking and promoting events, producing music festivals, and I’m currently developing and producing a few TV and film projects, as well as working on our 2nd annual film festival.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Most of the time it’s been a blast. But, sometimes the weeds get thick. The key is to always remember why you do what you do. If it’s a passion then you know you’re on the right road.

Please tell us about your work.
We are constantly working on doing everything the best we can. We do so many remarkable things, it’s hard to pick. But we are proud of The Mesa Music and Film festivals. I think one of the things that set us apart, is that we don’t follow trends or jump on sort lived band wagons. We build and drive them.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Well, we have a bunch of great projects in Mesa and Arizona. Stay tuned.
