Today we’d like to introduce you to HeatherAsh Amara. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Best-selling author, mentor, land steward, and philanthropist HeatherAsh Amara has spent the last three decades weaving together earth-based wisdom, mindfulness, and practical strategies for creative, courageous, compassionate individual and community change. She is the author of 9 books, including the bestselling Warrior Goddess Training series and The Seven Secrets of Happy and Healthy Relationships with Don Miguel Ruiz Jr. As a master firewalk instructor and President of the Global Firewalking Association, the irony is not lost on HeatherAsh that when she found herself right on the frontlines of the destruction of climate change, it came in the form of fire. On April 6, 2022, her life was dramatically altered when what was supposed to be a controlled burn by the US Forest Service turned into a raging wildfire that decimated 341,000 acres and 9000 buildings, including her ranch. As she sat with her grief and sang apologies to the trees, she realized it was past time to take action in the ways she could by utilizing her voice and global reach to generate positive, impactful change in her community and worldwide.
She began at home – with the people around her who had lost their homes and livelihood – by raising funds through her extensive network and donating supplies to those in need. Thus marked the birth of something new: The Center for Creative Intent, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization she founded to offer space and education for community leaders to retreat, learn, and grow their capacity both for weathering the oncoming storms and leading their communities through the transitions and contradictions we all face.
Today, HeatherAsh dedicates her time to having the hard conversations surrounding the most critical topics of stewardship, anti-racism, and climate change. Her writing can be found in her Substack, Out of the Fire. When she’s home, HeatherAsh plants her feet in New Mexico, but as a lifelong nomad, she spends most of her time traveling, teaching, and writing in cafes around the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
On the precipice of my book being published, my husband and teaching partner left me for another of our teaching partners. It left me devasted, and I realized I had just written the handbook to help me sort through the mess. Since then, I’ve moved to New York and New Mexico, searching for a place to root down and plant my feet in between my nomadic teaching schedule. Last year, we had some of the most devastating fires in New Mexico, and that fire touched the land I steward. We are rebuilding from the wildfires, which will be my project for decades.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your business.

Any big plans?
Well, Warrior Goddess is coming to Sedona for Shamanism and the Divine Feminine Retreat, and I’m currently writing my next book–Wild, Willing, Wise. In this Shamanism and the Divine Feminine weekend workshop, we will release stuck emotions, rewrite our history, and rewire our experiences in a playful, powerful, and profound way. We will nourish your heart and soul using a variety of tools and rituals, including the four elements:
- Animal
- Spirit allies
- Sound healing
- Sacred movement
Then, next summer, my new book is truly a gift from the depths of my heart. It has many great stories about our wild, willing, and wise selves. Finally, I’m working on some big projects in Teotihuacan for next summer, including Firewalk Instructor Training and a huge retreat around the ceremony at the pyramids.
