Meet Hannah Stalder of Lilac Moon Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Stalder.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Hannah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for beauty for as long as I can remember. I perused nursing which was not my passion and I just knew it. One day I was asked to model for a styled shoot. I got my makeup done at a makeup studio in Scottsdale called “The sparkle bar”. When I left the studio, I thought to myself this is the type of environment I would love to work in one day. Some time went by and I saw that the sparkle bar was hiring for makeup artists. I threw together a portfolio in the short time I had and applied. In complete shock, I received an email saying they wanted me to come in and audition. So, when I went in, they had me do one of their employees’ makeup. I was so nervous but I did my best and the next few days they sent me an email asking to join their team. I was so surprised, excited, so many emotions I couldn’t describe. That moment is one that I will never forget because it gave me the confidence and drive to get where I am at today. When I didn’t fully believe in myself someone else did and it changed my future as an MUA.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s a constant learning experience. You’re working alongside artists who sometimes are more experienced and can be intimidating. I think the bottom line is that everyone has their own unique style and technique. At some points along my career I felt like I lacked the confidence to be the best. But in this industry, you just have to smile pick your chin up and realize we are all here to make people feel their most beautiful self!

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lilac Moon Beauty story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a traveling freelance Hair and Makeup Artist. I specialize in soft glam bridal. There is nothing more special than being asked to be a part of someone’s wedding day! These pictures are forever and we have a huge part in the way they look! I just love connecting with people on a different level and I believe that’s what sets me apart from others.
