Meet Hallie Eigenberger of The Waverly in Old town

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hallie Eigenberger.

Hallie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
You can say my passion for the hair industry has always been in my blood. I come from a long line of barbers before me. 4th generation to be exact. Even though I didn’t follow in the barbering path, I have always had a creative eye and love for all things beauty.

I attended cosmetology school after a year of uncertainty at college — best decision I could have made. I moved to Scottsdale to further my career and have been fortunate to be able to assist and train under some amazing stylists whom I learned so much from. I spent a year in Los Angeles where I had the opportunity to work on editorial shoots and many different award shows.

I also expanded my training and services to include professional makeup. I was excited to move back to Scottsdale and am now working at my dream salon The Waverly. I get to work alongside such amazing, talented, boss babes in whom I get to continue learning from and furthering my career.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When I was first beginning my career, I let the fear of rejection hold me back from fully indulging myself into the copious amounts of opportunities this industry has to offer.

After growing out of this silly yet vital stage of life, I was fully ready to dive in and take on everything that I was passionate about. Growing my clientele while moving around has been difficult as well. Having to step out of my comfort zone and push myself to succeed has been amazing because that is where the real growth starts.

I have fully embraced these challenges because they have brought me to where I am today, and I am forever grateful for that.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Waverly story. Tell us more about the business.
I absolutely LOVE connecting with my clients. I love knowing they left happy and feeling special. I think there is such empowerment in taking care of yourself. There are so many incredibly talented hairstylists amongst us that when I feel like I can truly connect and make a difference for someone is what sets me apart.

I have a passion for coloring and especially for blonding. There is such creative control you have as a stylist, and I love being able to tap into that. Creating fun styles and unique touches are always something I look forward to!

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were just starting out?
I have always been one to learn from my mistakes. Looking back and being able to appreciate where I came from is what pushes me to better myself as an artist and a person.

If I could go back and tell a younger version of myself not to be so hard or not to take things so personally, I would probably do that. But again I feel like that all drove me to where I am today!
