Meet Graham Greytak of HireRising in Arcadia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Graham Greytak.

Graham, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I went to school on the east coast with the goal of a career in sports business. I was fortunate enough to land a job at the Phoenix Suns, which moved me out west to sunny Arizona. After four years of client relations with business owners and top executives, an opportunity presented itself at a data center provider in Chandler. From that experience, I was approached to become a part-owner in a data center hardware and software integrator. With the cloud gaining popularity, I knew the future was in services rather than data center products. I made the jump in 2018 to branch out and started HireRising, which is a full-service staffing and recruiting firm focused on the local IT sector. After less than two years, HireRising is now one of the largest placement firms in Arizona. This year alone we project placement of 180 IT individuals into new careers locally as well as over 25 employees on our payroll. Annual revenues in 2020 are projected to be around the $5M mark.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With no previous experience in staffing and recruiting, we had to learn processes through trial and error. Many of our early clients came from relationships built prior to HireRising and were extremely patient and encouraging in guiding us to find success with them. Silver lining came as we hired in house employees that brought tenure from the industry and helped mature our company with best practices.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about HireRising – what should we know?
HireRising provides staffing and recruiting services to local area businesses, including direct-hire, contract, and project-based work. We specialize in the IT industry ranging from executive level to technical hands-on roles. We are proud to work with five of the ten largest Arizona-based businesses. We believe in a work-life balance for our internal employees and that translates to better service levels for our candidates and clients. The way we achieve that is to provide a partially remote work environment so our recruiters can focus on speaking with the most qualified candidates.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
A commitment to consistency. This is a skill I practiced for 15 years during my swimming career. I swam competitively from seven years old until age 22, where I graduated from the University of Virginia with a scholarship in swimming.
