Meet Giselle Jacildo of Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Jacildo.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I started my career in cosmetology over 15 years ago. Although I had a passion for makeup, I focused on hair. While working in a salon, I heard about eyelash extensions. It was the latest beauty service. I decided to finish them myself and fell in love with them. It was like waking up with makeup. I, too, wanted to help women achieve this look. I signed up to take an eyelash extension class with Borboleta. While working in a salon, I did eyelash extensions on family and friends. Along the way, I decided to focus on my little ones and became a full-time mom. My children are in school full-time, and I decided to return to the beauty industry. While returning, my focus is eyelash extensions; another new skill under my belt is powdered eyebrows. Last year I took the powdered eyebrow course with Contour Brow Studio in Chandler. Now here I am today, offering eyelash extensions and powdered eyebrows.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It could be a smoother road. Some of the struggles along the way are practicing the two skills I offer; finding time is a struggle since I also have my children and keeping a household going. Find time to practice and start a new business; you must wear many hats and balance everything.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Two of the services I offer are eyelash extensions and powdered eyebrows. Eyelash extensions have one or a couple of extensions (fan) applied to one natural lash using safe eyelash glue. I can make the eyelashes as natural as you want, or I can make the eyelashes more of a noticeable and dramatic look. I use a variety of lengths, curls, and thicknesses customized to each client. Powdered eyebrows are a permanent makeup application (tattoo) that mimics a makeup look on the eyebrows. I use a tattoo needle and cosmetic ink to shade the eyebrow area. First, I map and fill the client’s eyebrows with regular makeup. I work with the client to see what they want to achieve with their eyebrows. This is great for someone losing a lot of their brow hair or wanting to save time with their makeup routine. I love helping women save time on their makeup routine every day. Having eyelashes and eyebrows right when they wake up is so convenient. I also love helping someone who is losing their eyebrow hair have eyebrows again. I’ve been told by many clients I have a gentle touch, so there is no poking or hurting clients here.
