Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Moreno.
Hi Gina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a first-generation Mexican-American from a working-class family, and the first in my family to start building generational wealth. By the age of 23, I had 10x’d my household income through a career in engineering and tech—industries where Latinas make up less than 2% of the workforce.
But while I was proud of what I’d achieved, I couldn’t ignore how isolating and invalidating it felt to be one of the only ones in the room. That realization sparked my passion for advocacy, representation, and empowerment. In 2019, I gave a TED Talk focused on empowering women in STEM and leadership—and that moment became the catalyst for everything I do today. I allowed myself to be multidimensional, to pursue purpose alongside success, and to rewrite the narrative of what leadership can look like. This inspired me to start sharing my voice through social media and public speaking—what began as a personal passion grew into a platform of over 100,000 followers across channels. Along the way, I’ve been honored to be featured by media outlets I deeply admire, including Business Insider, NBC, and Univision, for my work in empowerment and advocacy.
Now, I help other first-gen Latinas do the same. At the individual level, I support women through coaching, workshops, and my signature group program—guiding them to gain clarity on their purpose, overcome self-doubt, launch passion projects, and build aligned lives that reflect who they really are. At the collective level, I use my platform, podcast, and public speaking to challenge cultural norms, amplify our stories, and advocate for systemic change in spaces that have historically excluded us.
Because at the end of the day, our voices matter. We deserve to be in rooms of power, not just for representation’s sake—but because those rooms shape the future of our society. And it’s time that future reflects all of us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road. One of the hardest seasons in my journey was in 2020. On the outside, everything looked like a dream—I had traveled the world, delivered a TED Talk, and landed my dream job at Microsoft. But internally, I felt deeply lost. I realized that just because I had checked off certain milestones didn’t mean I was fulfilled.
The biggest hurdle was giving myself permission to evolve beyond survival. I had to unlearn the belief that I was only meant to “make it” in the traditional sense—to get a stable job, be grateful, and stop there. Watching my parents work so hard just to survive made me feel guilty for wanting more—more alignment, more joy, more meaning. But I couldn’t ignore that inner voice any longer.
At the same time, I was beginning to unpack painful parts of my childhood—navigating complex family dynamics and healing from emotional wounds that had quietly shaped me for years. Around that time, I was also diagnosed with both ADHD and PCOS, which finally gave context to many of the mental, emotional, and physical symptoms I had struggled with silently.
Mental health has been my greatest challenge—but also the most transformative part of my story. It took deep inner work, therapy, mindset shifts, and spiritual healing to get to where I am now—living with more peace, clarity, and self-trust. Every obstacle I’ve faced has become a tool in my toolbox to help others feel seen, supported, and empowered to rewrite their own story.
We’ve been impressed with I operate under my brand “Soy Gina Moreno”, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the heart of my brand is a mission to empower first-generation Latinas and women of color to break generational cycles, step into alignment, and build lives rooted in purpose—not just survival. I do this through transformative coaching experiences, public speaking engagements, and storytelling that helps my community feel seen, inspired, and capable of more.
I specialize in helping high-achieving, multi-passionate women gain clarity, release limiting beliefs, and take bold, aligned action—whether they’re launching a purpose-driven project, starting a business, pivoting careers, or finding the courage to share their voice through social media and public speaking. My signature group program, Next-Level Latina, combines mindset work, self-discovery, and strategy inside a supportive, culturally-aware space.
I’m also a sought-after speaker on topics like mental health, breaking generational cycles, multicultural empowerment, and identity. Whether I’m on a stage, leading a retreat, or sharing my story online, my goal is always to spark reflection, healing, and bold action.
What sets me apart is my blend of heart and strategy. I’ve lived the journey—from growing up in a working-class immigrant household, to making it in tech, to walking away from that path to build something deeply aligned with my purpose. My work is rooted in personal transformation, cultural awareness, and the belief that when one of us rises, we all rise.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating a space where women feel safe being their full selves—ambitious and soft, healing and powerful. My community knows me for my authenticity, depth, and empowering energy—and that’s exactly what I bring into every offering.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Yes—you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Clarity comes through action. So many of us, especially women of color, wait for the “perfect plan” before giving ourselves permission to dream bigger or take bold steps. But the truth is: you’re allowed to evolve, change your mind, and grow along the way. That is part of the journey.
Also—build a support system. Don’t do it alone. Whether it’s mentors, community, or coaching, surrounding yourself with people who see your magic and remind you of your power can make all the difference.
And lastly—don’t shrink yourself. Your story, your voice, your identity—those are your superpowers. Even if you feel like the “only one in the room,” remember: you’re not there by accident. You’re there to expand what’s possible. You’re meant to take up space.
