Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Torres.
Gabriel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I always have been interested in photography since I was little. I started learning and doing photography in freshman year of high school ever since then I have been hooked to the form of art. I enjoy when I get in the zone and can be as creative as I would like. I never really thought of making a business out of it since it was fun just doing it as a hobby but I realized why not expand it to a full time thing and do what I love. So, here I am, working on becoming an official business.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road but no road is always smooth. All the bumps along the way have taught me valuable lessons and how to grow as a photographer some of the struggles are marketing yourself to expand your customer base to keep a flow of bookings as well as when I was just starting finding the money to buy equipment to get started. One of the big ones where when I was younger it was hard to be outgoing, talkative, I was very shy but I learned very quickly to be outgoing to make the shoots more comfortable and entertaining no one like to stand in silence lol.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a photographer, I specialize in business advertising photos, portraits, landscapes. I am known for creating photos that may be relatable to others with deep personal meanings in each and every photo I add something it could even be something small in the photo. What I am most proud of as a creative is being able to do what I love by creating art and being able to share that with others. I would say what sets me apart from others are my photos, they come from a different approach, very moody and dark, not as vibrant as most other photographers photos are. I keep a story behind every photo I create, I just enjoy having deep complex meanings behind my photos.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say a mix of good luck and bad luck. The opportunity to be able to pursue my passion and the support from my friends and family, also good luck comes into play with my bad luck, I use bad situations to my advantage to create art from it. You never have a bad day, just a bad moment.
