Meet Floyd Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Floyd Brown.

Hi Floyd, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am a man from truly humble and poor beginnings being raised in the South Side of Chicago, the Englewood area.

Moved to Arizona in July of 2018, and have been amazed by the opportunities available in Arizona. I started off coaching Jr Suns in the Deer Valley area, then coaching and training out the YMCA, now I am the Owner, Director, and Head Coach of The Arizona Flames men’s Basketball Team that plays professionally in the American Basketball Association. Everything I am is because of the grace and mercy of my Creator.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have always been and probably will always struggle trying to succeed in the world of sports and entertainment.

Getting people to see the vision of starting a pro sports team and, and moving in cohesion to accomplish the goal is a constant struggle. Dealing with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures is a struggle in sports and entertainment when all involved don’t have the same standard.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the owner, director, head coach, and more for The Arizona Flames men’s Basketball team. We specialize in providing an opportunity for athletes to advance to the next level of their basketball aspirations. We provide a platform for athletes to develop, enhance, and showcase their talents, and build a legacy through the sport they love here in Arizona. We are a community team, meaning we service and support the communities we play and practice by partnering with local entities and foundations that provide the needed support.

I am most proud that the vision I have is coming to fruition in front of everyone to see and witness and be impacted in some positive way. The thing that set me apart from others is my drive, my ambition, my tenacity, and my will to help others achieve their goals. My faith and internal fortitude are definitely something unique! More details in the upcoming Documentary being treated and filmed about my journey!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I feel like I don’t have much time left, but with the time I do have, I’m going to love people and bridge them to success! I have a gift for being a catalyst to change for the better.
