Meet Flora Tromelin of FCT Strategies

Today we’d like to introduce you to Flora Tromelin.

Hi Flora, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. 
I was born and raised in France, where I earned my Master’s degree in Marketing Management. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by a diverse group of international individuals. This exposure has provided me with a unique perspective and understanding of various cultures and business practices.

I’ve held a variety of roles, ranging from a guide and B2B salesperson to an event and PR coordinator. One of my most notable positions was serving as the Chief of Protocol to the US Ambassador in Paris. Each of these experiences has enriched my professional journey and equipped me with a broad skill set.

While living in France, I never envisioned myself as an entrepreneur. However, upon moving to the US four years ago, I discovered an entrepreneurial spirit within me. This led me to establish my own company, FCT Strategies, LLC.

FCT Strategies has become the go-to consulting firm for international organizations seeking expertise in diplomacy and international protocol. We provide high-level advice and support for global events and projects, ensuring that our clients navigate the international landscape with ease and professionalism. I absolutely love what I do, and I’m excited about what the future holds for FCT Strategies.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Transitioning from France to Arizona in the summer of 2020 amidst a global pandemic was no easy feat. The move was more challenging than I had anticipated, especially with two teenagers in tow. The pandemic had significantly altered our habits and ways of interacting, adding another layer of complexity to our relocation.

Upon arrival, I found myself in unfamiliar territory, knowing no one. As someone who thrives on human interaction and public relations, this was particularly difficult. There were moments when I felt useless and unwanted, but my resilience and optimism kept me going. I immersed myself in community service and sought out an internationally-oriented community. Leveraging my interpersonal skills, I was able to quickly build a substantial network.

Despite these efforts, my job search proved more complicated than expected. After numerous unsuccessful interviews, I decided to pivot and create my own consulting company, FCT Strategies, LLC. This experience reinforced my belief that ‘Sometimes things happen for a reason.’ My struggle to find a job led me down the path of entrepreneurship, a journey I had never envisioned for myself prior to the move. And I couldn’t be happier with where that road has led me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
FCT Strategies, LLC is a consulting firm that specializes in diplomacy and international protocol. We are known for providing high-level advice and support for global events and projects. Our expertise ensures that our clients navigate the international landscape with ease and professionalism.

What sets us apart is our unique blend of international experience and local knowledge. Having lived and worked in both Europe and the United States, I bring a global perspective to our work. This, combined with our commitment to understanding each client’s specific needs, allows us to provide tailored solutions that truly make a difference.

One of the things I’m most proud of is our ability to adapt and respond to the diverse needs of our clients. Whether it’s a multinational corporation or a foreign government, we approach each project with the same level of dedication and attention to detail.

Recently, we had the privilege of working on the visit of the Dutch Prime Minister to Arizona. This was an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a variety of people and organizations, and it’s a testament to the kind of high-profile projects we’re capable of managing.

In addition to our work locally, FCT Strategies, LLC also has a strong presence internationally. We have the capability and experience to manage projects abroad for our clients. Currently, we are working on a project in Italy, demonstrating our global reach and adaptability.

Last fall, we successfully completed a project in Washington D.C., further showcasing our ability to operate in diverse locations. Whether it’s a project in the United States or overseas, we bring the same level of dedication, expertise, and professionalism to ensure our clients’ success. We take great pride in helping our clients achieve their goals and look forward to continuing to do so in the future.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I consider myself an optimist, and I find joy in many things – a leisurely walk, a genuine smile, or a captivating book. However, what truly brings me the most happiness is the positive impact I can have on others. When former colleagues, interns, partners, or friends reach out to tell me that I’ve made a difference in their lives, it touches me deeply.

This has happened to me twice in the past few days, and I can confidently say that there’s nothing in the world that makes me happier than knowing I’ve made a positive impact. It’s a powerful reminder of why I do what I do, and it fuels my passion for my work.
