Today we’d like to introduce you to Evo Terra.

Evo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been in strategy and business operations for most of my career. Parallel to my time running digital advertising agencies, I was an early adopter of podcasting. And by “early”, I mean I had the 40th podcast back in 2004. In 2005, I had the opportunity to write the first edition of Podcasting for Dummies, launched a company that sat at the intersection of self-publishing, audiobooks, and podcasting.

Through the resulting decade-and-a-half, I’ve been proud to play an active role in the changing podcasting landscape. And what dramatic changes we’ve seen! Today I run a busy boutique strategic podcast consultancy, counting a number of global businesses and professional service providers as my clients.

Has it been a smooth road?
What’s life without struggles, right? Job changes, industry uncertainty, global financial market collapse, living abroad for a number of years… all of those things and more impacted the road I traveled.

But I never expected a smooth, non-winding road ahead of me. I’m too much of a realist for that. That’s why I follow the path of maximal interestingness, keeping myself open to opportunities. Looking back, that hasn’t let me down.

Simpler Media Production is a podcast consultancy. Most of our clients are businesses or professional service providers who see the need to have a podcast but don’t want to take the time to learn all the skills necessary to become podcasters themselves. So we remove all the technical uncertainty and handle all the behind-the-scenes processes for them. For many of our clients, they simply talk into the microphone and we take care of everything else.

Our distributed team makes it easy on our clients, but we also work to make their podcasts — and all of podcasting — better.

To help with that, we offer our clients unlimited strategic consulting services. And we don’t nickel-and-dime or offer ala carte services. Instead, we offer a comprehensive suite of services to ensure that our clients’ shows produce measurable business results.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I’ve spent some time in the Phoenix startup scene and think it a great place to start a business. There are some established business leaders, excellent networking opportunities, and a groundswell of talent. Sure, we’re a sprawling mess with financial transactions dominated by real estate, but every city has it’s problems.
