Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn and Chad Wheeler.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We had just moved to Colorado and the job that had taken us there did not work out. At the time, my husband and co-owner, Chad, was in the AV field, but had done websites for friends and family. We received a call from my father saying he needed some updates to his website. We looked at each other and said “What do we have to lose?” So the next day, we got a business license and were on our way to creating the company we are today.

We have built our business on relationships and referrals. I started Networking as soon as I could and built many lasting relationships from that. Even though we moved back to Arizona, we still have numerous clients from Colorado who still refer us out, and have done website makeovers with us. Most of our jobs come from referrals.

We were fortunate enough to not have to bug friends and family with our services. I enjoy getting out and meeting people. When we first started, I would see a “Now Open” sign or banner and go in and talk with them to see if they needed a website. Got our very first website from doing that.

Our customer service is also what has gotten us to where we are today. Unlike other designers, or so we’ve heard, we do call you back if you leave a message, and do answer emails. We feel that your website is your 24/7, 65 days a year employee. That employee has to be at its best at all times. That’s where we come in!

Has it been a smooth road?
Up until the end of 2015, Chad also has a full time job most of the time. It was a struggle sometimes to balance both jobs and family life. The middle of 2015 we had to make a decision. I either got a job and went back to work and we closed the business, or we both took it on full time. With the big scare of not having a steady income, it was a tough decision. Chad had faith we could do it and convinced me to jump in. I had not had work for someone since 2004, so going back to work on a routine schedule was not an option! I still wanted to be raising our daughter and be a big part of her life.

Growing the business had its challenges in the fact of our quick growth. We had to hire and accountant to keep things in order, and that was hard for me to do. I had always been in charge of all of that, but in order for me to bring in more sales, I had to have help. Admitting I needed help was a big step!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Web Designs Your Way – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We Specialize in WordPress web design. We also offer Social Media. We collaborate with several other professionals so we can be your one stop shop for all your business needs. We are capable of dealing with any industry, but have worked with several realtors and helping them brand themselves. We can do everything virtually, as well as meet with local clients. We have clients all over the United States, and our Google reviews tell us we are doing something right!

I feel we are known for amazing websites, above par customer service, and going above and beyond. I am amazed so often when people call and say they have called other designers and left a message and never heard back from them. That is so frustrating to me because it can give our industry a bad name. We have probably gotten a handful of jobs just from returning a phone call! We go above and beyond in several ways, but a couple that stand out are we are honest, truthful and reliable. We have an hourly rate, but only c\bill in 15 minute increments for any changes. So if it only takes us 15 minutes to make a change that is all you will get charged for. Some places charge an automatic hour no matter what. We also offer maintenance plans for WordPress security. We did not have to build the website in order to provide these services for you.

I am proud of how much we have grown in the past 7 years. Going form a part time thing for me, to a full blown web design company is a big accomplishment in my eyes. We do not have any employees at this point, but do see some in the future for sure.

The items mentioned above are what sets us apart from other web designers. We answer the phone if we are not with another customer, we return phone calls and emails, deliver what we promise, and build amazing website for a very affordable price. We even offer payment plans for those who need the help. Our pricing is really low, but some startups just don’t have the budget. We feel everyone deserves to have an amazing website and funds should not be what keeps you from having one.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love Chandler! There are so many things to do, great people, good schools, and lots of entrepreneurs! Chandler is a very safe place to live as well. There are people from all over the place here, which is great!

What I like least about Chandler is the fact that is seems like no matter where you go, there is always a road under construction!
