Meet Erica Richmond of Richmond Realty Solutions Group in East Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Richmond, MBA, Ph.D.

Erica, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Absolutely! In a nutshell – I have gotten to where I am today through hard work, determination, an unwavering commitment to excellence, strong faith and fervent prayers! My career began right out of college as a pharmaceutical sales representative, many moons ago.  Throughout my professional career in health care sales, I’ve been described as a dynamic visionary with exceptional leadership, consulting and strategic management experience.  I have developed and led comprehensive business and sales strategies, negotiated complex deals and structured multimillion-dollar transactions for Fortune 500 companies. I’ve served as a senior sales consultant for several of the most innovative and prominent healthcare companies, where my leadership and results-driven strategies have resulted in unparalleled success launching breakthrough therapies in the healthcare industry. Having worked with many high-profile executives, I have been acknowledged as having an innate ability to effortlessly craft strategic communications campaigns and resolve complex issues, all while creating an exceptional client experience.

Also recognized for my entrepreneurial mindset, marketing savvy and masterful negotiation skills, I recently decided to launch a new business venture in real estate! I believe that my educational background, charismatic personality and results-driven focus are a natural fit for the competitive real estate market. In addition to having earned an undergraduate degree with a double major in finance and marketing as well as an MBA from Purdue University, my passion for lifelong learning, grit and determination inspired me to go back to school to earn a Ph.D. in Organizational Management, specializing in Management Education and Leadership, in 2013. My educational and professional accomplishments rank among the highest echelon of professionals in my field and are a true testament to my value as a real estate agent, as well as evidence of a special talent for cultivating trust-based, long-term relationships with each one of my clients.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my amazing husband and business partner, Dwight and our three greatest accomplishments – Tre’, Niyah and Kayli, along with their four-legged boy – Halo. Traveling, reading, home décor and design and all things real estate are my hobbies and special interests. I am a huge NBA fanatic and I proudly support my local team, the Phoenix Suns! I am committed to leveraging my extensive professional experience, love for real estate and strong desire to have a positive impact on the lives of others, to deliver world-class results for my clients.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has certainly not been a smooth road for me! Born and raised in Gary, IN, which at the time was considered to be the murder capital, I was blessed to have not been impacted by the grim statistics associated with many inner-city youth during that time.  Early on I demonstrated a solid desire to be a success. For example, my daily after school activities throughout high school consisted of spending hours at the library studying, researching, and learning about how to apply and secure college scholarships. I ultimately graduated #4 in my high school class and was awarded a full academic scholarship to Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI, becoming the first in my family to attend and graduate from a four-year university. At Grand Valley State University, I was consistently recognized for my leadership and strong academic accomplishments. I was ultimately selected to participate in a televised interview with former President Gerald R. Ford and I was also featured in Ebony magazine as an outstanding college student!

It was during my time at Grand Valley that I realized that I had a true passion for making a difference in the lives of others. This passion for people, coupled with my love for marketing and strong business savvy, led me to embark upon a career in pharmaceutical and medical device sales. This was just the beginning of what has resulted in an extremely successful career. I have continued to defy the odds and have consistently achieved stellar performance results year after year!

In addition to volunteering, some other interests that I have pursued outside of my corporate career have been teaching at the collegiate level, career and leadership consulting, interior design and real estate. Always an entrepreneur at heart, and realizing that it was possible to integrate my passion for teaching, helping others, love for real estate and keen eye for home décor, along with the stellar sales and marketing qualities that have contributed to my successful career, my husband and I made the decision to launch Richmond Realty Solutions Group!
