Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Meyer, Hannah Felix.
Eric and Hannah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got started training in 2006, the same year I started college.
I was drawn by the connection to other humans and being able to help people achieve goals they never thought possible. Now, looking back on it, connecting with others helped my own depression. Helping others made me a better person and at the time, I didn’t know it would change my life for the better.
Coming from a family with a lot of health problems, I learned at a young age why taking care of yourself through physical exercise and a healthy diet was so important.
It helped me build confidence to do better in all areas of life. I wanted to share that passion with others around me.
Also, I have to add, because meeting Hannah made all of this possible.
I met Hannah Felix six years ago. She was an ICU nurse and a highly motivated individual in life and working out. She was the person who truly showed me what I was truly capable of and gave me the discipline to grow even further.
We started a business in person and online driven to help others. It’s a business built around the idea that all humans are connected and we can achieve anything when we inspire and (in)fluence each other.
Has it been a smooth road?
No! Not at all.
When I started my business to help others get healthy, I also got addicted to drugs and alcohol. It was an 8-10 year battle that made me struggle more than I can ever have imagined.
But it turned me into the caring and compassionate person I am today. it made me a leader. It made me a stronger person. It made me not a quitter. It made me believe I could do anything. And it made me someone who could prove to my clients anything is possible.
I overcame a lot. I used to live in my truck and take showers at the gym. Now, I live in Arcadia. My business is amazing and so rewarding and I got engaged to my best friend.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Fluence Fitness – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I help others get in the best shape of their life.
I work on overall strength and conditioning. I help people lose weight, build muscle and build confidence.
I’ve had some amazing success stories and transformations and my clients have inspired me to continue to get better.
What I’m so proud about with my brand is the natural evolution of what it has turned into. Years ago, I used to think the business was about me. It’s not. It’s about the community of amazing people. People from all walks of life. My clients are like family and were only growing.
What sets me apart is my personality. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a good trainer and I love to learn and gain knowledge and exercise science. But my ability to connect with others, people from all walks of life is what sets me apart.
I don’t care who you are, I can make you enjoy fitness.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
It’s easy to get around. There is a lot to do. People like to be active and the food scene is growing.
Sometimes, the heat kills me, but I get used to it.
Honestly, I used to hate Arizona when I was younger. But as I grew up, I learned how good we have it, and the city is only growing and developing to get better!
