Buzzly Media started in the halls of the ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. The company has changed a lot as time has gone on, but the journalism roots still shine through. Our team has a passion for finding the beauty in things, creating content that moves people, and for always asking the right questions.
It’s an interesting business to be in. At this point, everybody knows you’re supposed to maintain your social channels with meaningful and relevant content, but few professionals have the time to make sure it’s done right. We help fill those gaps and give businesses the cohesive social presence they need to be successful.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve evolved a lot since the beginning. We’ve had all types of clients, from a local tea company to major national brands. It was always a struggle trying to get people to understand the importance of social media and that it really can make or break a brand. As the years have gone on, people have started to realize that social media isn’t going away and that brands really can’t afford to not have a social presence. But it was a struggle for us to try to help people understand that.
We also struggled a lot with pricing. The way our retainers were structured, we were inaccessible to small businesses. Now, we’ve figured out a way to offer services to a niche (Arizona real estate professionals) at an affordable price point that makes it a no-brainer for people who want to grow and improve their social media presence.

Buzzly Media is where journalism training meets social media marketing. We primarily offer social media marketing services but also help clients with things like email marketing, blogging, and strategy creation.
Recently, my husband, Peter Scobas, was able to join the company and we launched a new product called Remodel Social which provides social media marketing solutions specifically for Arizona real estate professionals. What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I would have to say that I’m most proud of the way Buzzly Media has been able to give back to the community. I was involved in the dog rescue community throughout college, and it was always my goal to give back to the rescues who supported me when I was just a kid wanting to help dogs anyway I could. Today, my company’s growth has allowed me the freedom to donate our time, money and services to many local rescues. We do the most work with an East Valley rescue called Cruz’s Crusaders, which was founded by a veteran and specializes in helping sick and displaced dogs. We create a lot of their graphics, help out at events, and set up fundraisers to raise much-needed money for feeding and vetting their animals. I love that we are able to make an impact like that in our community.
