Meet Elizabeth Ful of Arizona Tanning Company in East Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Ful.

Elizabeth, before we jump into specific questions about the company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started in the tanning industry in 2001, in Twinsburg, Ohio. From my first day in the salon, I knew tanning would always be in my life. I got married and moved to Phoenix in 2005. I did work in salons at first but took a break from the industry from 2006-2010 when I worked in the insurance industry.

In 2010, I found my way back to the tanning world and have been spray tanning since 2011. In 2014, I started Go Glam, the first company I owned. After going through a high conflict divorce in 2017, the company’s name was changed and it got a fresh look.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I can’t say my road was hard per say, but one of self discovery and difficult choices. When I first started, it was slow but always remained confident that my spray tans would sell themselves. I had this amazing craft and new the universe had a plan for it. Patience is a virtue, but very hard to practice. It has been an area of personal work and growth for me and has now become such a blessing.

I changed the business name after my high conflict divorce in 2017, although my ex husband had no rights to the business, it was the only way I could be completely free from him, and his father. There were false accusations of unpaid loans and contracts that didn’t exist. I knew the harassment wouldn’t stop until Go Glam went completely away. It was a hard decision, but Arizona Tanning Company was born and I’m so proud where it is today. As I grew through each challenge, I was able to see how important boundaries are to maintain a healthy, peaceful life. Personal and professional.

Please tell us about your company.
The energy of Arizona Tanning Company is that of comfort and love. My only concern is the comfort of my clients and that they know they are loved. I love hearing their stories and getting to know them. Having a mobile option allows my clients to schedule when it’s most convenient for them. No sitter? No problem.

I use a solution that works on everyone and smells great. It’s even Gluten free, for my clients with celiac disease. It’s derived from a specific apple, ensuring the most natural color application.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I run my business on a part time basis, mostly evenings/nights, with limited weekend appointments. Spray tanning is my love and will continue to spray tan until I’m physically unable.

I am also a mom of two amazing little humans. I am an autism mom, and also pursuing my degree to become a BCBA. I currently work as an ECH and Habilitation provider for two families. It brings me so much joy working with such awesome kids.

I’m so lucky to have two passions in life, and beyond grateful that I have the opportunity to pursue both. I do my best to balance everything and give my kids the quality time they need from me.
